Some might say "structural therapy" is a fancy term for bodywork. In its simplest form, that's not untrue. However, it means more to me than that. I look at how the hoof is affecting the posture and how the posture is affecting the hoof growth pattern. I also look at if your horses "tightness" is being caused by the muscle or muscle group being elongated or contracted. Once I determine that, I look at the opposing muscle group, why is it not doing its job? I use a variety of modalities to help the contracted muscle release and the elongated ones to engage and do what they are supposed to do. It's all about balance and proper biomechanics.

The horse is incredibly complex and often times you’ll hear the word “conformation” used inappropriately when talking about their structure.

Conformation is something they are born with that can not be altered.

i.e. one femur being longer than the other (seen in an X-ray).
